Posted By: SusanBC13 Tue, Mar 25, 2014 looks to be of Japanese origin, Imari porcelain with transferware decoration, possibly late Edo period. The rings around center probably handpainted underglaze. |

Posted By: Jim Wed, Mar 26, 2014 Your bowl is Japanese, probably made around 1900 or earlier, with mostly transfer, and sometimes with partial hand painted decoration. If you turn the bowl over you should be able to see "spur" marks, little indentations or extensions in the base rim. This is a sure sign of its origin. |

Posted By: SusanBC13 Sat, Mar 29, 2014 Hi Mark... The pic isn't too sharp, but from what I can see, the foot and the bottom does have the look appropriate for the period, late Edo. Also has handpainted underglaze design around the foot and around top rim. |
