Subject:Small lobed bowl - turquoise inside
Posted By: Mary Fri, Mar 28, 2014 IP: 173.116.244.129

Hello esteemed wise-persons,

I have inherited another piece of Asian art from my grandmother, who collected Asian treasures, and I am trying to learn about the things in her collection. (Thanks again to Bill for the excellent information on the "Buddhist blessings" vase).

This is a small bowl, it is about 5" in diameter at the outer rim. My grandmother used to tell me it was "valuable", but, it didn't look like it in my child's eyes.

I wonder if anyone has any idea of it's age and/or origin. It doesn't have any marks that I can find on the bottom. The only thing I've noticed about it, is that it seems to have sand embedded in the bottom rim, on the inside edge. It's background color on the outside is very faintly bluish-white or maybe greenish-white, it's hard to tell after I've been looking at the inside color.

I would appreciate any of your learned minds' knowledge very much.

Thanks and best regards,

Mary
