Subject:What Is this Vase ??
Posted By: Hotrax Sun, Mar 30, 2014 IP: 108.233.162.178 Found this in the bargain dept of a Goodwill store, I am clueless on the item or if its worth the .25 cents paid. Photo #3 near the top rim is a possible stamp? any info on this half finished piece would be appreciated It appears be be repaired in several spots and has no markings ? |

Posted By: Jim Mon, Mar 31, 2014 These are commonly called "ginger" jars as the original contents were preserved ginger. Produced in their millions and sold wherever there was a Chinese population, they are quite common but not particularly valuable. They turn up around the early gold fields of Australia. Yours appears to have some damage but with a lid which is desirable. |
