Subject:Does Anyone Recognize the Maker’s Cartouche on Japanese Bronze Mother & Child?
Posted By: Joe Benevides Tue, Apr 01, 2014 IP: 67.182.107.188 Can anyone recognize the maker’s cartouche and would be able tell me who the maker is, and/or give more information about this piece? I thinks it's Tokyo School circa 1900, but I'd appreciate additional information if anyone knows more. Thanks! |

Posted By: Guy Thu, Apr 03, 2014 I think it reads "Yohimitsu saku" (made by Yoshimitsu). I can agree with the description 'Tokyo school, ca 1900'. |

Posted By: Joe Benevides Fri, Apr 04, 2014 Thanks so much, Guy! I was able to search for Yohimitsu and found the same signature on other pieces attributed to him. Your information was very helpful! |

Posted By: Guy Sat, Apr 05, 2014 Glad to help. I made a spelling error in my previous message. Must be 'Yoshimitsu saku' (芳光作). |
