Subject:Porcelain Vase is this a Japanese mark? Any thoughts appreciated
Posted By: RS Wed, Apr 02, 2014 IP: 24.21.163.89

Hello, I have a hand painted porcelain vase with irises. It appears to be Asian in origin, can anyone tell me if it has a Japanese signature, believe it to be 20th century but not certain. Any thoughts on this piece will be appreciated.

This is Japanese Satsuma pottery, with a maker's mark. This floral motif of several irises was one of their favorite types of artistic decoration.
Depending on who the mark represents, hope someone else can help with that, it looks early 20th century to my eye. Very nice hand painted enamel and glazed piece. What's the size?
