Hi Arjan,
I don't know what you mean by, You can't stand it about????
But anyway, if you are questioning the date of the Imari plate in the picture, I do understand it. It is Bakumatsu Imari, roughly, around 1840 - 1870. Best Regards, Emiko

Hi Arjan,
as no one else has responded, I will try. I would think your plate is late Edo, somewhere between 1800 and 1850. I have one Imari plate (pictures below) that I believe belongs to that period and it has the same backside decoration. Also the general design of my plate shows a few similarities to yours. Also the green with the black dots that can be seen appears on some Imari pieces in the V&A Museum, and they are dated from late 18th to early 19th c. So maybe your is from early 19th? Of course I can be wrong, and I hope others who are more experienced will give their opinion too.
Regards, Mat

Hi all,

Thank you for your help and confirming the dating.
When I bought this one -or better ones- (I bought a few) my own feeling (also) was they were late Edo but I didn't manage to find a rather simular one on internet to confirm my thoughts. I don't like that and it makes me doubt when I can't find something simular. That's what I meant with "Ï can't stand it" Emiko.

Regards,

Arjan
