Subject:What is it?

Hi,

I found this little guy, he's 2 1/2", among my grandmother's things. I can't imagine what his purpose is, (if he has one), or if he's from China or not, or his age. I hope someone here has the knowledge and experience to give me some idea?

Not made in China, that's for sure.

It seems chinese with that mustache and braid, and also the hat. maybe a blanc de chine figure..?regards wil

Yes, it was probably made in the US during the first half? of the 20th century. Seems like a mocking stereotype with the queue and prominent teeth, though no doubt thought by its maker to be cute and inoffensive.
