I picked up this hand painted chinese urn and was wondering its rarity and value. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a decorative cachepot in the form of a traditional Chinese fish bowl with apocryphal mark of "Made during the Qianlong Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty" (Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi). The decal-applied mark is in a style associated with late 20th century transfer-decorated wares produced by Macao porcelain-painting factories using made-in-China blanks. Similar transfer wares have been made in Hong Kong for decades as well. Value is in line with similar decorative items available at Asian import outlets and department stores, but ranging in the hundreds instead of thousands of dollars that a true antique might fetch.

Best regards,

Bill H.
