Where is the horse?

Do you need to see the horse in order to translate the script ? Is a picture of the script alone going to translate differently from a picture with the script and the horse ?

Yes and yes. Many posters believe that this forum is a free translation and appraisal service, many posted their pieces here before they sell them on eBay. Some even had the nerve to bad-mouth the forum members, accused them of intentionally trashing their pieces and then stealing them on eBay.
Your piece is at best a tourist piece based on its inscription alone.

Thank you. That's what I thought, tourist piece. I didn't buy it anyway. It just didn't make sense that a Tang style horse would have writing on the base. But I really wanted to know what the writing stated.

Don't feel alone, I also got trashed for wanting to know what calligraphy translates to.
Judging from the base the horse is modern:
1. You mention Tang Style - not even Tang style I am afraid - Tang pieces or pieces trying to imitate Tang will be in a pink or buff clay, not grey. Grey fired horses are associated with Yuan Dynasty pieces which this is not.
The shape of the hooves are wrong for an antique (burnish line too pronounced on the left hoof).
The biggest no-no is the smeared earth.
If I could help with the translation I would have done so but unfortunately I cant.

The script is in modern simplified Chinese. It reads, from left to right : "zhong guo" (China)"lin tong" (a place in Xian, China)"qin yong ma"(reference to the Qin Dynasty terracotta horse).
