The seal reads

Hand painted, Made in Japan.

The seal show "made by Japan Empire"
Probably before 1945 after 1868.

Hi !!! Thanks for your help, yes , you are so right , a japanese person said it was pre 1945. So it could be worth something,! the next time "Flog it" comes to Ireland I will get it valued.( HA HA). By the way here is a photo of the Koro, lovely isn't it. kind regards Patrick

This is a very late Brocade Satsuma, ca 1920 - 1930 probably given the heavy piped enamel decoration and the design with the pierced MON lid and simple foo dog/lion handles and knop. The Dai Nippon mark is more commonly seen in pre 1910 examples, but always hand written where as this is stamped, suggesting a later date. I include an example of an earlier generation of this type of censer ca 1910-20. Unmarked.
