I am new here, this is my first post. It surely will not be my last. I have many questions regarding East Asian art. Here is my first. Is the writing on these 2 paintings Japanese or Chinese? What does it say? Is this a poem? Is there an artist signature and date the paintings were made?

ha, you have offered a difficult example: I can offer arguments for both Chinese and Japanese but can't see clearly enough from your photographs to rule one or the other out. funny how the more I see the less convinced I am.
