Subject:Little Sino-Tibetan (?) Figure
Posted By: Mat Thu, Jul 03, 2014 IP: 87.202.76.117 Hi,is this little figure (I think it is Avalokiteshvara Padmapani) authenic or a modern fake? It is only 4 cm high. The gilding has come off in some of the exposed parts. How old is it? Is the style what is called sino-tibetan? Thank you for your help in advance! |

Posted By: Mike Wed, Jul 09, 2014 Hi Mat, If the figure is male it's Padmapani, if female the Green Tara. Looking at the flat chest I think probably Padmapani. The style is Sino-Tibetan or Tibeto-Chinese as they tend to be refered to these days. It looks genuine enough to me from the pics. |
