Subject:More Nephrite jade
Posted By: Michael O Mon, Jul 07, 2014 IP: 203.126.109.122 Here are a few more pieces of nephrite from xinjiang which I managed to obtain from my China source. Each is about 5 to 5.5 cm in diameter and 1 to 1.5 cm thick. They were sold to me at their original cost, which is a fraction of today's price and is still affordable to me. Even though they are new carvings, I was told again that the supply is now more and more scarce / controlled and dealers are jacking up the prices. |

Posted By: Michael O Fri, Jul 11, 2014 Hi Adam, thanks for the advice but I am sure that there are pitfalls when starting any collection. I suppose what you mean is that there are more fakes and fraud in the antique jade market and novices like me should not rush into it blindly. I have had my fingers burnt before and I am always grateful for such advice. |
