Subject:Woodblock Print
Posted By: Patrick Mullen Fri, Jul 11, 2014 IP: 76.112.143.187

I posted an image of a woodblock print a couple weeks ago and thank you for the help. Here is another which to me looks much different in color and quality - very sharp color and detail. It was in the same collection with the other prints. Is this a woodblock print as well? Do the signatures/markings make it identifiable and/or more valuable? Thanks again for help.

This is indeed a woodblock print. It was published by Kyoto Hanga-In in the late 1950s to early 1960s, with the design attributed to C. Minagawa. It is documented in the 1963 catalog from that publisher (see: http://www.koitsu.com/Research/Catalogs/KHI/1963-10/Catalog_1963-10.htm ) on page 28.
