Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Does that look like a rust spot? Is there a simple way to get rid of rust spots. Thanks in advance.

Judging by the transfer-printed mark of "Made at Jingdezhen" (Jingdezhen Zhi) and lotus scroll motif, your bowl is utilitarian ware from the third quarter of the 20th century.

The spot isn't necessarily rust but possibly just a speck of organic material that carbonized when the bowl was kiln-fired. Presuming it is vitrified within the glaze, no amount of bleaching is apt to remove it. Such kiln spots are quite common in antique Chinese porcelains, and a few seem to find their way into later products as well.

Best regards,

Bill H.
