Subject:A pair of indian wood statues covered in metal, need help

I have exhausted all of my resources on trying to figure out what these fantastic statues are. The statues stand 21 inches tall. They are made from wood, and covered with some type of silver metal that is held together and sealed with many tiny nails. The craftsmanship is very excellent. It seem like the metal is either tarnished or had paint at some point. Please help identify these, where they are from, age, what they are, and possible value.
