Subject:Can someone tell me what seal mark this is?
Posted By: Jen Mon, Jul 28, 2014 IP: 98.240.80.74

Here is a floriform polychrome large bowl, with duck and peony decoration. I have searched gotheborg for matches for the seal, but come up with nothing.
Any ideas on age and seal transalation? Thank you in advance.

The Chinese-character seal (shown upside down) is a decal-applied ersatz mark of 'Qianlong Nian Zhi' (Made during the Qianlong Reign). Your lotus-form bowl also is a transfer-decorated late-20th century product of a Hong Kong or Macao porcelain-painting factory.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thanks Bill. I appreciate the info! The foot rim gave me pause. It's quite delicate. Anyway, thanks so much!
