Subject:Help identifying a makers mark

Can anyone help me identify these marks? They are on what I believe to be an older lidded Asian jar.

I can't read the cursive mark in the first picture, but the double-gourd vessel bearing it could either be a vase or a "tokkuri" (sake decanter), probably of the late 20th century.

The moriage slip-decorated pot that seems to be made to have a lid has a mark of "Made by Shimamura" (Shimamura Sei - 島村製). If you'll query the forum search feature using "Shimamura" as a keyword, you'll find earlier threads concerning this circa Taisho-period (1912-26) studio and its wares.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thank you for this reply! Unfortunately 'CHRIS' posted a picture of HIS piece in my thread. So I believe you are replying to his picture. Any chance I could get you to look at my marks and open my link?

The following response was to the photobucket link, which shows the same mark as pictured above in the second image, which is indicated to have been posted by you:

Is this not the link you cite as yours?

Sorry about that. We had very similar posts and problems with uploading the images at the same time which confused me. Thanks for the help!
