Subject:Soup Bowl - Handpainted
Posted By: Kevin Sherlock Mon, Aug 11, 2014 IP: 65.207.30.3

Can someone assist in the identification of this nice bowl. There are no marks. It is a fine piece I'd like to know a bit more about.
Picked it up at a flea market for 5 bucks.
Thank you in advance.

This is Japanese Imari ware, dating from the Meiji period (late 19th century).

Thank you Mike. Would it be a valid assumption that unmarked pieces are produced by many different kilns or is that a characteristic of just a few?
