Posted By: rat Tue, Aug 12, 2014 not fertility, this is a recently made boy dressed in late Qing style (eg with a hair queue); the medallion contains an amalgam of four characters used as a sort of amulet hoping for the arrival of wealth/talent/good things. |

Posted By: JayC Fri, Aug 22, 2014 Turns out the piece is a little older than I thought and it isn't hard resin but Bakelite; placing the piece somewhere around the turn of the 20th century or the end of the Qing dynasty. Just thought a follow-up was in order. |
