Posted By: Howard Dennis Sun, Aug 24, 2014 Thanks for the reply. Examples online declare much older dating but fail to name this technique. Do you have a Japanese name for this style lacquer? Inro started life with 6 segments but 2 are stuck together possibly from age. One appears to have had the bottom knocked out and then glued to the end segment to make a double depth compartment, possibly to hold tobacco? Construction seems to be thin wood. |

Posted By: Howard Dennis Sun, Aug 24, 2014 My last response hastily stated this was 6 segments. I'm fully awake now and can count better. Inro originally had Five segments. Sorry for the mistake. |

Posted By: Howard Dennis Thu, Aug 28, 2014 Thanks but no thanks. As I said worst online experience in 16 years online. I'd rather NOT know than return there. |
