Subject:Japanese Fish Bowl Decoration Enquiry
Posted By: IndianaJonez Sat, Sep 20, 2014 IP: 94.197.40.224

Hi, I have seen a Japanese fish bowl which depicts a traditional Geisha in a garden scene.

The interesting part is that there is 'raised' white pearl glaze spots bordering some off the images on the rest of the bowl.

I cannot see any markings on the base of the bowl.

I hope this makes sense to someone.

I have 2 questions:

1) Can anyone tell me how far back the Japanese used raised white pearl dots as a boarder on their fish bowls ect.

2) Any more info would be appreciated.

I have one image only and it is not that descriptive...sorry.

Thanks
