Subject:Name of sculptor for marble Banjara Couple
Posted By: Bill Wed, Sep 24, 2014 IP: 69.248.187.235 I am trying to confirm the name of the sculptor that created the 13" rust and green marble sculpture entitled Banjara Couple. It is an exquisite piece featuring a man playing sitar and a woman dancing. The piece was purchased in 1994 from Jaipaul in Philadelphia. The paperwork from the purchase states it was by Shiv Dayal Sharma, a national awardee and an acclaimed artist. I question if this is correct as I'm unable to find any info online searching that name. Any assistance is appreciated.

Posted By: Venkat Fri, Sep 26, 2014 Shri Shiv Dayal, P. O. Mandri, Gazi Ka Thana, Distt. Alwar, Rajasthan, India got national handicraft award in Stone Carving in the year of 1973.
