Subject:Blue on White Stem Bowl
Posted By: Mario Sat, Oct 04, 2014 IP: 108.252.219.53

I would like some help on this stem bowl that I am trying to identify this blue on white stem bowl. My question whether anybody has seen this type of bowl in Chinese porcelain. I've perused the internet and have seen similarities in Persian porcelain, especially real early ones. The white has a more bluish tinge to it. It measures 11.5cm top edge to edge, bottom edge to edge measures 6.5cm, height measures 5.5cm with slight variations on all three. Unmarked but has an image that looks like a spider in the bottom of the bowl. One side of the bowl has grit/sandish material which is on the outside blended into the glaze and on small spot that is reddish in color. It is definitely very old. It has two small chips and the porcelain itsel is white. The inside bottom is glazed with the edge of the glaze showing granule like material. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
