Subject:Pewter Candlesticks
Posted By: RKK Sat, Oct 11, 2014 IP: 32.209.202.137

This pair of pewter candlesticks appear to be old and have a Chinese stamp on the underside of both. It is very difficult to capture an image of the stamp, so please let me know if you would like additional attempts. There is a Chinese symbol that appears on the neck of both. I would appreciate any information regarding the marks and age.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Another attempt to show the stamp on the underside.

Thanks!

The single character mark on the necks is a stylized rendition of "Shou", meaning "Long Life". The photo of the apparent maker's mark has an overabundance of fuzz factor that clouds the stroke order.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thank you for your patience. The stamp is underneath the candlestick and difficult to capture.
