Subject:medium size decorative plate
Posted By: Rae Sun, Oct 19, 2014 IP: 208.73.121.43 This is a medium size hand painted/enameled plate that was imported by gumps San Francisco, I would say very early in the 20th century, as the gumps import mark is very rare. It has some Japanese charcters. Does anyone recognize this mark or this type of plate? Any idea of age or maker? All help is very appreciated! |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Oct 30, 2014 The gilt characters appear to read down as "Konkozan" (金光山). The link below shows a Meiji-Period vase with this mark, which is indicated to have a connection to the former Satsuma Province. |
