Subject:Chinese Seal Mark Identification

Is this painted seal Tongzhi? It is on the base of a very old teapot. I am told the teapot is from the 18th century.

Not painted, stamped.

Yes it reads TongZhi, but is probably later.

TongZhi not 18 century - his reign was 1862-1874. That's 19th century.

And why not show us whatever this mark is on? You might learn something more about it if our members can comment.

Thank you. I will try to post the teapot today.

I am still learning ..., but I couldn't figure out why I was told this was an 18th c when Tongzhi was during 19th c. (I researched the mark before coming to the conclusion that it was similar to Tongzhi.)

I posted images of the teapot. I don't believe it is a significant value, but I always enjoy learning a bit more.

(The image size is reduced to fit the site's limitation on file sizes).

Thanks again for your help!
