Subject:Seiya Genryusai. Seal on bronze tiger
Posted By: Karsten Malmstroem Sat, Oct 25, 2014 IP: 77.68.160.109

Hello.
I own a bronze tiger from my late father, and I am looking for similar tigers in order to make a collection of beautiful bronzework.
Now my question: Seiya Genryusai is known to have made fabulous bronze figurs, and I think I own one of his works. However there seems to be a slight difference in the seal on different items sold. The two attached pictures shows almost identical seals, but there is a difference in the upper left corner.
I am a total ignorant in japanese, so can anyone explain what the difference means?
Best regards

Both seals do read 'Seiya saku' (誠谷作, 'manufactured by the Seiya workshop'). So, your piece is likely to be an original.

Guy.
