Subject:Puzzling Chinese Cloisonne Trademark
Posted By: beadiste Fri, Nov 07, 2014 IP: 65.74.52.150

This mark appears in ways similar to the "CHINA" mark that is so often seen - painted in red enamel, stamped into base metal, or stamped into the base enamel.

Anyone have a clue as to around what decade these items were made?
The translation of the mark? Is it in fact a stylized rendition of some character?

a guess at the maker's mark is that it reads Tianhe 天合, but knowing nothing about cloisonne I can't be of any further help.

Thank you, Rat - I combined the characters you suggested with "jing tai lan" and found yet another example, which is described as a Republic-era tea caddy.
