Posted By: rat Sat, Nov 15, 2014 thanks very much for the picture, it's a lovely painting, though now I feel a bit dopey because I can't pin it down. The artist is signed as Lin Qing (林青), though I do not see references to a painter by this name. The style seems to me to be a very attractive pastiche of Song, Yuan, and Ming elements but can't tell that it was painted any earlier than within the last couple of decades from your photos. |

Posted By: Mike Wed, Nov 19, 2014 Thank You Rat, I truly appreciate the info. Just by providing the artist's name it should enable me to find out more about this painting. Regarding feeling dopey I can empathize with you. Unfortunately as I've gotten older I actually have become dopier. As a matter of fact it was only yesterday that I spent about half an hour looking for my sun glasses only to realize they were on my head. Not too long ago, it would only have taken 10 minutes. |
