Need help with the left stack. Kiln or artist? Thanks for a reply, Jim

The left stack reads "Made by Taizan" (Taizan Sei). Taizan was a well-known studio of the Meiji Period (1868-1912). The mark is also seen on some wares from the prolific Kinkozan Studio. If you query the Taizan name in the forum search feature, you'll find other related discussions.

Best regards,

Bill H.

The mark reads 'Dai Nippon Taizan sei' , ca 1880s to early 1890s. Cfr Gotheborg page.

URL Title :Gotheborg Satsuma pottery

Bill H. and Guy, thank you both very much for the clarification, more than I had hoped for. I looked in Gotheborg mainstream, but as the mark did not include the Shimazo mon, I did not think to look in Satsuma. Best wishes, Jim
