Subject:Ivory Carving Depicts What?
Posted By: Howard Dennis Fri, Nov 28, 2014 IP: 68.99.173.23 Just acquired a Japanese Ivory Okimono and am wondering what it depicts. It appears to be a Samurai lounging on a basket and rug. The rug and whatever is in the basket appear to be yarn. My question is both the yarn bundle inside the basket and the one by his feet appear to have flowers literally growing out of them?
