Subject:blue & white dishes: Japanese sometsuke?

Hello AAF members.
Does anyone have an opinion about these blue and white dishes?
They are very small (just under 4 inches in diameter) and are slightly irregular in shape. The porcelain makes a high, clear ring when struck with a knuckle.The man from whom I acquired them said that he thought they were Chinese (age unknown) but he wasn't sure. I can't help but think that they have a Japanese look and feel to them. It's just a hunch on my part... I would love to have the input of more knowledgeable forum members.
