Subject:Identification appreciated for Thai (?) plaque.
Posted By: Col Davidson Mon, Dec 01, 2014 IP: 124.170.200.216

Hi All,
I have a lovely (to me) plaster Buddhist plaque made of a white plaster with a thin harder coating. It measures 225mm x 155mm x 25mm, appears to be VERY old and comes from an old collection. At top are four Buddhas, another one centre and a child (?) at bottom. Around the central figure are Thai (?) characters in circles. Some gold-leaf is still present.
I would appreciate any information that members can give me on my item.

I’m “going bad” – I originally posted this under “China & Japan” – Sorry.

All the best,
Col

As you already know that the top figs are sitting buddas from Thailand. The bottom fig looks like a monk. The Thais, as you are aware of have many different amulets like this. They ware/have the amulets around the neck and on the walls etc....
