Subject:Korean? Copper Cloisonne Plates Mystery
Posted By: beadiste Mon, Dec 01, 2014 IP: 65.74.52.150

Earlier I posted a picture of a copper cloisonne plate to see if anyone could read the signature character. I thought it was Japanese.
Since then, two other plates have turned up, both possessing the same sort of torched edge.
However, the costumes and appearance of the figures in these plates look more Korean, especially the plate of the two women ironing cloth.
The owner of the two plates reports that she purchased them in Asia during the 1970s.
Anyone have a clue who the artist might be?
