Subject:Asian pottery markings
Posted By: Kenna Howell Sat, Dec 06, 2014 IP: 99.10.102.47

I need help identifying maker of this compote (?), also, what is the purple mark on the inside of the bowl?
Thank you!

The blue motif has the kind of unevenness associated with transfer decoration, while the yellow and white glazes both look modern. The apocryphal mark says "Made during the Kangxi Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty" (Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi). Probably made quite recently.

Best regards,

Bill H.
