Subject:Help please. Is this old?

My mom sometimes posts items here, so, hopefully someone can please help me with the age and translation or authenticity of this item? Made from bronze and covered with a black lacquer like patina size is 2.25 x 2.25 (base) by 2.5 in height. Untranslated/unknown characters on the bottom. Thank you for your thoughts.

It is probably 100 years old and new.
