Subject:Antique with language I need translated Please
Posted By: Chris Moore Sun, Dec 21, 2014 IP: 24.17.103.47

Hello, I have an antique that I was given by my grandmother and it was given to her from her great grandmother which leaves me to believe it has been in the family for some time. I don't know anything about it because I was given it when my grandmother almost passed away and she personally gave this to me. Would really appreciate if someone could translate this for me. If I know what it says or means that can help me research it so I can learn the history of this item my grandmother wanted me to have. Can take additional pictures if needed.

Thank you very much for the reply. Do you know who this person, Quang Foo was? Is there a way to make any estimate at a time period this item was created?

Really appreciate the reply : )

it would cost an arm & leg, For the time! Also, it would be better if you find info yourself.

I have doubts with the translation, first of all, the two marks were obstructed by the horizontal pin and I do not know how any one could translate it so easily and so rapidly. Secondly, most of the marks found on pieces like this would usually be the purity/metal mark of the material or name of its manufacturer,, seldom that of the artist. Thirdly, you asked Mary a question and a Nancy responded. Very curious.
