Subject:Japanese Woodblock identification!!
Posted By: tim schwarz Fri, Jan 02, 2015 IP: 23.118.126.203 HI I have two gorgeous early 20th Century Japanese woodblocks. They came from an estate with a large collection of antique 19th Century woodblocks. I have found most of the others names, seals etc.. But these two and one other I cannot find or figure out who made them, what there titled or when they would have been made. I think I have figured out that the second character on the front within the image is "Haru" but I cannot figure out anything else. Any help is greatly appreicated!!! |

Posted By: Marc Kahn Sat, Jan 03, 2015 You've got 2 prints designed by K. Ohmura, published by Kyoto Hanga-In. They are part of a "Pagoda" series of 4 prints, with one print for each season. You've got Summer and Autumn. For verification, see pages 24-25 from the Kyoto Hanga-In catalog (link below). |
