Subject:Large Chinese fishbowl age/identification hugely appreciated
Posted By: Jo Mon, Jan 12, 2015 IP: 92.18.4.145

Hi...I know pretty much nothing about Chinese porcelain (apologies), although I do have a few bits. This, I think, is the best. And I would really appreciate advice/clarification re what it is and age etc.

The only thing I know about it is that I inherited it from my mother, who inherited it from her father. But I don't know if my grandfather bought it or if he inherited it too. I'm assuming it's a fishbowl just because it's always been referred to as "the fishbowl". And it's big and very heavy, approx 17"(43cm) high with a diameter across the top of about 20 1/2" (52cm). It's also really rather lovely.

Thank you in anticipation re any advice offered.
