Subject:Are they of Chinese or Japanese Origin?
Posted By: John Tue, Jan 13, 2015 IP: 99.137.236.177

I have 2 large, approximately 18" or so plates that I've been told are approximately 80 to 100 years old and may be from China or Japan. There are no markings on the bottom with the exception of the decorative paintings on the sides, and the top of the plates don't give much as to where they may have originated from. I'm trying to find out the origin and value if possible, any help is appreciated thank you.

Hi John,

These are Japanese Imari plates. They could even be a bit older. Sorry .... i'm not good with values.

Regards,

Arjan
