Subject:Small Bronze Budha Markings
Posted By: Jason Sat, Jan 17, 2015 IP: 75.69.26.44

I have a small, 3" bronze Budha with these marks on the bottom. Is any able to provide any information on what they mean?

Thank you

The Great Buddha of Kamakura (鎌倉大佛).

FYI, Buddha images are revered by many and admired by others who visit this forum. You do a disservice by showing only the bottom of this one and not all of its peaceful countenance.

I apologize for not posting the full image. Originally I was unable to upload the photo due to file size. Hopefully it works this time.

Thank you. Please see the link for further information concerning this celebrated image, of which yours is a replica of the size usually offered for sale as a memento to devotees and tourists who make the pilgrimage to Kamakura.
