Subject:I'm good with preschoolers but not Asian art...

Hi there, I'm hoping some kindhearted soul out there can help me learn more about this piece of artwork. It belonged to someone from Elerding travel company, apparently they led one of the first tour groups into China after it reopened in the 70s.
I'm not sure who to ask, and despite scouring the internet I'm still pretty useless at trying to translate the seal…
I'm planning to give this to a wonderful old man who loves cultivating bonsais and dreamed of visiting the far east one day, but I'd like to be able to tell him about it, and I pretty much know nothing. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, and have a swell day.

nice mid 20th century Chinese painting. The composition relates to Ming Zhe school paintings (This one is attributed to Tang Yin, not a Zhe school painter, but you get the idea: http://www.chinaonlinemuseum.com/painting-tang-yin-landscape-1.php), the trees recall Song era pictures (cf Ma Lin: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4d/Ma_Lin_010.jpg), the blue/green color scheme refers to Tang era paintings (that don't survive) and is associated with imperial opulence (Wang Ximeng was a young Song painter working in blue/green style: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Wang_Ximeng_-_A_Thousand_Li_of_River_(Bridge).jpg)

It's unclear to me whose the seals are. The bottom seal seems to be a collector's seal judging from its final 2 characters 图书, the top one is illegible in your photo.
