Subject:Dinnerware / serving set @ 1900 or before? Information?

We have inherited a large set of what we believe is Chinese or Japanese dinnerware from 1880-1900. My husband's great grandfather was an importer living in New Jersey, who traveled to China to buy inventory. His company was The China Japan Trading Company. it is unmarked. We would like to find out any information regarding this. I have looked at pictures on the internet, but have not seen anything that resembles the domed lids of the serving pieces, with the twisted open work.

Your dinnerware looks to be Japanese, circa the late Meiji era (1868-1912), similar in motif and palette to some export wares by the Fukagawa company.

Best regards,

Bill H.

I agree with Bill H. Japanese Export ware from late Meiji, c1900-1910. While not the best Fukagawa I have seen, it does resemble some of their late patterns for the European market.
