The mark you show upside down says "Jingdezhen Zhi" in Mandarin, or made at the historic Chinese porcelain production center of Jingdezhen in Jiangxi Province. This mark also indicates the history of your hawthorn vases is a bit shorter than labeled, actually being no earlier than the third quarter of the 20th century. The hawthorn or hawthorne pattern is another name for the traditional Chinese blue & white prunus (flowering plum) & cracked ice motif.

Best regards,

Bill H.

The mark, rotated about 180 degrees, is for Jingdezhen, an area in China which is host to a number of kilns. Regards, Jim

Seriously?

How many fingers am I holding up?

What color was my first car?

How's about showing photos of the vases?

Gman
