Subject:What is this Japanese thing?
Posted By: Shawn Adrian Sun, Mar 08, 2015 IP: 96.54.233.113

Recently my wife and I were tasked with cleaning out her Japanese grandparents storage locker, which hadn't been opened since the her grandfather passed away 15 years ago.

We found this small glass case, with what looks like a gold painted item inside. What is it?

It is a display of 'Uchide no kozuchi' (the Mallet of Fortune), mostly depicted in the hands of Daikoku, one of the Seven Lucky Gods.

Guy.
