Posted By: Anthony Wed, Mar 11, 2015 Hi Wendy. Your vase is indeed Japanese cloisonne and you are correct that it is a combination of wired and wireless enamel. It is a very nice piece and would date circa 1880's to early 1900-1910. This is called the Golden Age of Japanese cloisonne. With out a artist mark it is almost impossible to know who made it. So many of the pieces from this era were not marked. Via research you may be able tonarrow it down to being attributed to a certain artist style. If you look at the work of Namikawa Yasiyuki and Namikawa Sosuke, for example, you start to see that they had a very deffinite style all their own. I specailize in Japanese cloisonne even though I collect many forms of Asian art. I hope this helps you some. |
