Posted By: Joseph Anderson Fri, Mar 13, 2015 IP: 98.26.142.243 This is an old tea brick. Can any one translate the writing at the bottom? Thanks |

Posted By: Bill H Sun, Mar 15, 2015 The characters read across from the right in two lines as 中國茶業公司,趙李橋磚茶廠製造 (Zhong-guo Cha-ye Gong-si, Zhao-Li-qiao zhuan-cha-chang zhi-zao), which I believe is translatable as "Made by the Zhaoliqiao Tea Brick Factory of the China Tea Enterprise Company". Zhaoliqiao is a city (Zhaoliqiaozhen) in Hubei Province. A Chinese language forum at the link indicates the maker of this brick moved there in 1953 from Chibei City, Hubei. |
