Hi Kelly,
Unfortunately all of these figures are recent reproductions. The black pottery lady has been slip cast (you can see the hole in the base where the surplus slip was poured off, and the heat vented from firing), something that did not happen in China until the 20th century.
Regards
Tony

Thanks for your analysis. Much appreciated.
Apart from the venting hole analysis for the srummer lady,
Can you kindly offer your thoughts and basis for the other 3 figurines being modern pieces?
Thanks

Tony
Thanks for taking time to comment.
Apart from the black pottery lady that was slipcast which led you to conclude that its at least 20th century, can you kindly share with me your other specific observations on the other figurines which led you to conclude that they are also recent reproductions?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kelly,
It would be extremely rare to find a genuine Tang dynasty figure in that fine condition. Blue is particularly rare.

The colored glazes have been dulled and the features (hair, eyes, lips etc) too pronounced.

Try the water test on them for porosity and smell.

I have attached a link to a real Tang fat lady.
Yours are simply too good to be true.
Regards
Tony
