Subject:Porcelain mark
Posted By: Didier Mon, Mar 30, 2015 IP: 2.0.68.155

Hello everyone.

I submit again to your sagacity has a mark on a porcelain cup. The decor is Chinese style, but Mark and manufacturing technique seem Japanese.

All information about Gift this porcelain are obviously welcome.
Thanks you

Best regards

The two stacks read down from the right as follows:

於九谷 - Au Ku-tani

永樂造 - Ei-raku Zo

I believe this would translate as "Made by Eiraku of Kutani", but invite better-informed comment of Japanese collectors.

Best regards,

Bill H.

In the link below is some information on the maker Eiraku Wazen.

I think that the mark on Didier's item is read 'oite Kutani Eiraku zo' (made at Kutani by Eiraku).

Guy.
